General Information - Databases on many subjects

Kids InfoBits - This database has lots of great information. Use this like you would use an encyclopedia in the Library.

InfoTrac K-12 Junior Edition - Same the Kids InfoBits database above - use this like you would use an encyclopedia - just has more information on each topic.

InfoTrac K-12 Student Edition - This is a more in-depth database - can be tougher to search but also has lots of information. This database includes magazine articles and book reviews.

Student Resources in Context - this database is organized by topic so you can look up a topic and all of the information is organized for you by news updates, reference (encyclopedia) entries and magazine articles. This database has images and audio files. Really good stuff but not all topics are covered.

Gale Virtual Reference Library - these are many of the same encyclopedias that live in the reference area of the library. They are just digital so you can access them from home.

Opposing Viewpoints - look a opinion articles and reports.

Social Studies and History Resources

Country Reports - a great database that will give you information (economic, social and governmental) about countries from all over the world. You need a password so stop in the library and pick it up. LOGIN: jfkms & PASSWORD: library

Massachusetts History Online - finds primary and secondary resources on Massachusetts history in this database.

U.S. History in Context - a great place to get both reference sources, encyclopedia essays, and magazine articles, images, audio files and more on all things U.S. history.

World History in Context - a great place to get both reference sources, encyclopedia essays, and magazine articles, images, audio files and more on all things involving global history.

Science Resources

Science Resource Center in Context Find lots of great topics on: Biology; Earth and Environmental Science; Math and Technology; Chemistry; Health and Physics; and Astronomy.

Biographical Information - Get information on a person's life and what they did.

Biography Resource Center - find thousands of biographies in this database on people from today and in the past.

Newspapers

New York Times - full-text of the New York Times newspaper - searchable.

Massachusetts NewsStand - has all the major Massachusetts newspapers that can be searched individually or all together.
